About The Adventure
The stories your history teacher skipped. Explore Wilmington's most infamous crimes, bizarre legends, forgotten scandals, and strange local history as you ride through Forest Hills, Historic Downtown, a forgotten cemetery, an underground jail, and other unforgettable stops.
Meet your experienced guides at 1101 Hill Street, Wilmington, inside the black metal gates and Triangle Adventures garage area.
After check-in and a brief safety tutorial, we will do some orientation rides so everyone feels comfortable on the bikes. From there, the group begins an easy ride on the Connector Bike Trail to Forest Hills before continuing toward Historic Downtown and several hidden and unexpected stops along the way. The full adventure covers approximately 10 miles before returning to the starting point.
Along the way, expect stories about an infamous local Civil War spy, sneaky money-making scandals, abandoned gallows, organized crime, forgotten history, and plenty of weird and wild surprises that prove Wilmington's past is anything but boring.
